It's Sunday and not a work day!
“It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight.” Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
I like to watch silly shows with bad acting and even worse cliches.
Television is an awesome thing to have. I love it.
They are more enjoyable if you have your best friend sitting next to you laughing at some of the ridiculousness with you pointing out which characters should fall in love. It's about being transported to another world, and living in a created experience to for a little while. Even if Plato was right and this is useless imitation, I don't care. I don't think it's entirely bad.
A little indulgence in Netflix with a healthy balance of real and meaningful events is GOOD
I think it helps reduce stress by trading off whatever may be worrying you for something more fun. The high school drama of Dawson's Creek or the supernatural excitement of Buffy the Vampire Slayer does this and more. Yes there were more than a few bad/stupid episodes in the beginning seasons of both Buffy and Angel, but just wait they get better. When this happens it will be difficult not to become obsessed, if you're like me.
Also noteworthy is the joy I get from the clothing the gang wears in Buffy.
The popular nineties styles are amazing. The clothing in the above picture is not really what I'm talking about. The outfit below is just great right? Pink overalls with a red cartoonish shirt. Classic Willow :) I've been discussing this too much already. That is all.
